What's with all the hoopla?
You may be wondering what I mean when I say:
"This is a burden.
We are blind. We cannot see. There is a coming Kingdom, and we need new eyes to see it.
The floodgates are about to open. The question is: can we swim?"
I know it all sounds a little heavy-handed, but I'm a firm
believer in living like we don't have time. So this begs the question:
"What would our lives in our walk with Christ look like if we knew we
didn't have much time left?"
Well that question, in a nutshell, is the reason I'm writing
Kingdom Eyes. It's a way for me to address how I believe the Word of God tells
us how to live our lives. This essentially gives me the goal of being a
messenger. A mouthpiece. A microphone.
And as far as humor goes, I'm a fan of... um... well, funny stuff. If you don't think I'm funny, I'm sure I've got other things going for me. Like a great personality. And a license plate collection. And many colorful rubber bands.
For now, just know that in the past I have posted links to strange pictures, talked over-enthusiastically about food, and made really bad puns.

Why "Kingdom Eyes?"
The reason I call this website Kingdom Eyes goes back to a verse -
John 3:3, which says, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born
again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” I believe that the Kingdom of God (all
that is under the willful submission of Christ) needs to be viewed with a set
of special lenses. Hence, "Kingdom Eyes." As opposed to "Beer Goggles."
Viewing the world through Kingdom Eyes means looking at it as
though Christ were looking through you. This means seeing every person as a
loved creation, coming to worship in everyday details, walking in the full,
overwhelming power of the Holy Spirit, and having a hope for a mass, impending
revival - among other things. (2 Pet. 3:9)
How often do you post?
Generally, I do my best to post once a week. This schedule has
proven to be pretty effective, and I've done a fairly good job at maintaining
this rate of posting. Historically, the specific day of the week that I post on
always changes, but I'm currently chugging along at every Friday. As a
college student, my schedule changes every semester, so that day may be up for
evaluation every once in a while. Along with the day I take a shower.
What is "RMP?"
(Currently on hold)
(Currently on hold)
Along with a complete overhaul of Kingdom Eyes' website, I am
introducing what I like to call Random Media Post, aka "RMP" (pretty
clever, eh?). Along with the weekly scheduled topic-post, I will be posting
some bit of media that may or may not be immediately recognizable as
Kingdom-ey. However, I promise that I will do my best to show how the relevance
is found.
These posts can be anything from a particular song, video, or
picture, to a band I like, new blog I find, or sermon audio that was really
powerful.
